Russell Rowland

Russell Rowland’s first novel, In Open Spaces, made the San Francisco Chronicle bestseller list and was named among the "Best of the West 2002" by the Salt Lake City Tribune. Rowland's second novel, The Watershed Years, was recently selected as a finalist for best novel of 2008 by the High Plains Book Award, which will be announced in October. Rowland teaches at Montana State University-Billings and with the Gotham Writers' Workshops, and offers private consulting for aspiring writers. Rowland also serves as the fiction editor for The Smoking Poet (thesmokingpoet.tripod.com) Summer2008, and for the soon-to-be-launched Stone’s Throw (stonesthrowmagazine.com). Rowland will attending the major events, documenting attendance and distributing and collecting surveys in his role as festival evaluator.
