Alyson Hagy was raised on a farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She is the author of the novels Snow, Ashes, (Graywolf, 2007) and Keeneland (Simon and Schuster, 2000), and three books of short stories including Graveyard of the Atlantic, (Graywolf, 2000). She lives in Laramie and teaches in the University of Wyoming's Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing. Hagy will be teaching a two-day fiction writing workshop offering CEU's, Thursday and Friday, Sept. 18-19, at Casper College. She will also moderate the panel: "Making Up Stories in the West" scheduled for 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Nicolaysen Art Museum and will be available to sign books following the panel.
